Les Mills Pump Workout: Pump Extreme

Busy day!  I did some homework and went on a couple store visits that I was assigned to for work.  The first visit was harder than I had expected.  It involved removing a couple cabinet doors and installing a new panel with a logo at a certain big box retailer.  It was heavy and the installing the panel was the tough part because I had to pretty much force the screws with no holes into the current cabinet.  It was like a workout and I was sweating like I just finished Insanity.

I went home and laid down to rest for a bit.  I dozed off for an hour.  I woke up and worked out to Hard Core Abs and Flow.  It’s always a great recovery day with those two workouts.  I then started getting my stuff ready to leave for Virginia tomorrow night.  It will be a busier day tomorrow.  I have to make sure I get my workout done first thing in the morning.  I have a few more stores to visit later in the morning and a couple errands to run.  I didn’t get enough sleep when I went to Virgina last June so I have to make sure I get enough this time.  I’m most likely going to drive a part of the 12 hours it takes to get there.  Hopefully it won’t rain this time!

Les Mills Pump Workout: Off Day

Off day from Les Mills Pump!  It’s great to rest the body after six straight days of some form of exercise, whether it be walking, running, or cardio/weight training.  I went to a friend’s house for an all day fest of football since we’re in the same Fantasy Football league.  I still have a game left tomorrow but I’m most likely going to lose because most of my players didn’t perform well today.  I need a miracle from the Bears defense to win haha.  It was a perfect autumn day again with the sun shinning and warm weather.  After watching most of the games, we went to a pumpkin patch nearby.  We walked around for a bit and I bought a few mini pumpkins.

I went back to my friend’s house for more football and had dinner.  I met up with another friend at the movies and watched Pitch Perfect.  It was the best movie that I have seen since The Avengers…even though it came out earlier this year.  I would say it in my top five.  I was non-stop laughter and I’m sure I burned a lot of calories from laughing so much.  I guess I did “workout” after all right? : )

I didn’t lose a pound at all this past week, which is disappointing considering that I have been losing at least two pounds a week.  Maybe I have hit a plateau.  Hopefully I will get back on track this week.  Regardless, I am still feeling fitter and healthier.  I feel great actually.  I can’t forget that progress is progress.  The scale may not move, but my clothes feel looser.  I’ll work harder this week for sure.  Tomorrow marks the beginning of Week 9 of Les Mills Pump and the final week of Phase 2.  Also,  the Hot Chocolate 5K race is exactly two weeks from today.  Gotta turn up the training!

Les Mills Pump Workout: Hard Core Abs & Flow

I swear my sleeping habits or should I say, insomnia, is getting worse.  I kept going back and forth in my mind if I wanted to try staying up and going to bed tonight to “reset” my schedule.  After reading up on a few articles on how to fix my sleep schedule, doing an all-nighter was not the best way to do  it.  I laid in bed trying to fall asleep and I saw an article on Twitter on doing some specific yoga moves to help go to sleep.  I tried them out and what do you know…it worked.  I woke up earlier than I expected.  However, I did some homework in my bed and managed to doze off a few times.  This change in weather has somehow affected my energy levels.  Speaking of weather, the rain needs to stop because it’s not helping.

There was no Fit Club tonight so I checked out a local grocery store that I’ve been hearing a lot about.  It’s the same store that is opening up in place of my old middle school.  It was similar to Whole Foods.  I also picked up some melatonin.  I have never taken it before nor have I ever taken anything to help me fall asleep.  I don’t like the idea of having to take something to help me fall asleep but at this point, I’ll try it.  Hopefully I’ll only have to take it once or twice to get back to a normal schedule.  I have to get up early tomorrow to finish the rest of my homework before a work meeting later on.  I might have some time to finish it afterwards and I would rather get it all done before to enjoy a Friday night.

I worked out to Hard Core Abs and Flow when I got home.  No running again today just because I was pushed for time.  I’m looking to run first thing tomorrow.  I modified only a little bit in Hard Core Abs when it came to the walking planks.  The only way I can get stronger is if I push as much as I can.  I went straight into Flow after that.  I love doing Flow because it has helped with my flexibility over the past few weeks.

Les Mills Pump Day 49

Les Mills Workout: Off Day

Sunday Funday? Ha! More like Lazy Sunday for me!  I don’t like to just lay around these days.  I like to stay more active and be busy.  Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of that.  I laid around and watched TV ALL DAY.  I’m very much enjoying these days off from working especially when it’s mixed with an off day from working out.  Today was exactly what I needed to relax and think about the week ahead.  I felt so much better today regardless of the laziness that came with it.  I’d like to think the weather had something to do with my mood over the past few days because it’s been rainy, chilly, and windy.  I was hoping to be able to run today.  With the lovely tornado warnings around the area, going outside did not seem like a good idea lol.  The sun is finally going to come out tomorrow so I’m happy about that.

Tomorrow begins Week 8 of Les Mills Pump.  The second workout of the two longest and toughest DVD’s is scheduled too…Pump Extreme.  I bet I’ll be sore once again on Tuesday.  The last time I’ll be working to Pump and Shred during this round is on Wednesday.  After that, it’s all Pump Revolution, Pump Extreme, Flow, Hard Core Abs, and walking from here.  Of course I’ll most likely substitute my walking for either Combat, Sports Attack, or maybe even Step if I ever get a stepper.  Or just go for a run.  There are only three weeks left before the Hot Chocolate 5K so I’m looking to train almost everyday.  There is minor pain when I move foot around sometimes but it feels like it’s almost healed.  I’m going to finally use the free 1-year membership I won from Planet Fitness back in February.  The weather should not be an excuse to not get a run in.

I only lost two pounds last week.  It’s okay since it’s my goal to lose at least two pounds a week.  I want to turn it up a bit more.  It’s time to push harder, work harder, and really get back on track.

Les Mills Pump Workout: Hard Core Abs & Flow

Happy Birthday to my Mom!

I am going to bed earlier and earlier each night, which is always a good thing.  When I woke up, I still felt a bit tired but not as bad as the the day before.  I spent my day doing homework and other work from my laptop.  I have been putting a dollar in a jar for every workout I complete and everyone pound that I lose since I started Les Mills Pump.  I have been wanting to buy a heart rate monitor and I more than enough money in the jar to finally buy one.  I found a great deal on eBay for an unopened Polar FT7 heart rate monitor.  I should arrive by October 18th at the latest.  I can’t wait to start using it in my workouts!

I took a break with a workout to Hard Core Abs and Flow.  It was kind of a recovery day I guess.  I went to finally pick up my Mom’s Birthday present after all of that.  My Dad and I split her present…a Keurig brewing system.  She has been wanting one and it’s the least I can do after all that she has done for me.  I want to make my Mom as happy as I can.  It’s taken me a long time to finally appreciate the ones that love you the most.  Life is too short so spend time with the ones who treat you right and tell them how much you love them.  You never know what tomorrow brings.

We went out for dinner to a restaurant of her choice.  It was a Chinese/Japanese buffet of course.  At the price for each person, it was amazing to see the very small selection of healthy choices they had.  Even though my Mom says differently, I think I ate so bad.  She said I didn’t eat as much compared to the way I used to eat.  Either way, I feel extremely guilty right now.  I don’t like this feeling.  What is also upsetting to me is how restaurants can keep serving bad foods and people keep eating it up.  There is still no excuse for me eating like crap.  My self discipline with food is one major area I have trouble in.  It’s as if I have no choice when it comes to going to a restaurant with barely any healthy options.  I do though.  It’s a learning experience each time I eat like this.  I have to remember that it took me YEARS to get where I am and it is a challenge to get to my goal weight.  Each time I fail, it does not mean I am giving up.  It is just a small bump in the road.  I have to work harder.  Tomorrow is a new day.

Les Mills Pump Workout: Off Day

Last night was the latest that I have stayed up in a long time.  Well, I have stayed up pretty late for the past week or so.  I was able to wake up early this morning though; just because my alarms kept going off and I received a phone call.  I only have to finish one thing tonight which is writing this entry.  After this, I’m calling it a night and I’m going to try to go to bed early.

I lost another pound today!  My total is now at 13 pounds lost since August 27th.  I tried out the Pumpkin Pie Shakeology recipe last night for dinner and made it again for breakfast this morning.  The recipe calls for Chocolate Vegan Shakeology, almond milk, and ice; which I was already doing, and to add 1/2 teaspoon of Pumpkin Pie Spice.  It’s not only healthy but it tastes exactly like Pumpkin Pie and it’s great to have during this time of year.  The fall and winter brings all of the tempting foods of Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  I am sad to say that I enjoyed a bit of the fall treats today.  I know I am going to partake in the festivities and some of the foods that come along with it…everyone will.  There’s no excuse to over-indulge though.  It’s all about moderation and just having a “taste.”  This is the season where people gain one or two pounds until New Years.  This season, I don’t want to gain any weight.  I want to keep losing it and I will lose it.  If I stay on track at the pace I am currently at, I predict that I will lose another 24 pounds by the end of the year and making it a total of 37 pounds…at the very least.  That means that I will be half-way to my ideal weight.

No workouts or work today meant more rest for my foot.  It acted up here and there this afternoon.  I bought a self-adhesive wrap the other day and put it on tonight.  It felt much better once I put it on.  Hopefully I can start my 5K training again tomorrow.  Today marks the end of Week 6 of Les Mills Pump.  Week 2 brings in a new workout, which is Pump Revolution.  It will also begin phasing out Pump and Shred.  I’m looking forward to workout to Pump Revolution since it is one of the two longer and tougher workouts of the series.  Bring on Monday and time to work even harder this week!

Les Mills Pump Day 39

Les Mills Pump Workout: Hard Core Abs & Flow

Oh boy, I could not go to bed last night. I was laying in bed and went to bed much later than I wanted to.  I spent the first part of my day doing homework and relaxing.  I worked out to Hard Core Abs and Flow earlier this afternoon as well.  It’s nice to get a workout done during the day.  Now that I have more free time in the next few weeks, I’ll work on getting my workouts done as early as I can.  I love the fact that no matter how many times I do abs, I can still feel a huge burn.  All of the ab workouts in Les Mills Pump has made my stomach area the smallest that it has been.  Flow is getting easier to do and I’m starting to enjoy the stretching more.  I’m always trying to take it a little further in my stretching each time I do Flow.  I was being careful with my right foot during my workouts.  I can feel the dull pain in my foot and I decided to take an extra day off from running even though I’ve only trained once so far.  Hopefully, I’ll be able to go for a run tomorrow.

After my workouts, I got ready and went to my best friend’s house for a super healthy and delicious dinner and to watch my favorite show…Glee. Yup, I’m a huge Gleek lol.  It was the most emotional and might be the best episode yet. I say it every time I watch “the best episode” but this one really was.  I’m still emotional up to now and it’s just a show haha.  Anyways, after that I headed downtown to see the midnight showing of Taken 2 (well at 10pm) and as usual my commute wasn’t easy.  I arrived late but I didn’t miss too much at least.  I was super hungry once I got out of the movie.  I felt like eating something unhealthy for some reason.  I did not give in and I ate a banana that I had in my purse.  Always gotta have some snacks on you at all times just in case.  Eating the banana and drinking water helped me get over being hungry.

I have dedicated my entire Friday to finishing my homework.  Let’s hope I don’t go crazy by the end of the night.  I’ll take a much needed break with my workout to Les Mills Pump : )
