About Me

My name is Christine and I live in the Western Suburbs of Chicago, IL.  I am 28 years old and I go to the College of DuPage.  My goal is to be an entrepreneur after I finish college.  I recently changed my major because I have good amount of knowledge already about Health and Fitness and I am becoming more passionate about it and helping people get to their own weight loss goals.  Therefore, I am majoring in Health & Fitness.  At the moment, I am a student of course, an Independent Team Beachbody Coach & I work for a few of the Chicago sports teams.   And if people watching is ever a profession, I would consider myself myself a pro at it : )

I absolutely love to listen to music and I listen to almost everything. I enjoy watching sports either in person or on TV. By the way, I’m a big Cubs fan and also love the Bears, Hawks, and Bulls. Believe it or not, I’m good at almost any sport but the sport I truly love the most is tennis. I’m big into networking and social networking so I love meeting new people. I always enjoy trying out and learning new things. I enjoy spending time outdoors like going to the beach, water park, or sitting at a simple bonfire during the summer and going sledding or skiing/snowboarding during the winter. I even enjoy playing video games.  I love to go out to the bars/clubs but I also love just staying in…either hanging out, having movie nights, or just catching up on old times. The most important thing to me is that I’m with family and friends while doing any of these things.

I have been overweight for most of my life but I am actually pretty athletic for my size. I used to play on the girls basketball team in middle school, and I played tennis during my senior year in high school and my first year in college.  I went from playing tennis everyday for at least 3 hours a day to pretty much not playing anymore.  I have tried fad diets, pills, work out programs, and I was even apart of a testimonial group for a new piece of work out equipment called the TorsoBall around this time last year. I lost 35 pounds from January 2011 to the end of February 2011.  After that was over, I had struggled to stay on track and have been off and on for the rest of the year. I had gained some weight back from Thanksgiving 2011 until February 2012 and I decided that enough is enough. I need to lose this weight for good.

I did a lot of research on different programs and came across the Beachbody Challenge and saw that an old friend was looking to add people to his Insanity challenge group back in January 2012. I love the accountability and support and I knew this was the perfect opportunity for me.  I started out as apart of a small challenge group where we all worked out to the Insanity Workout program and drinking Shakeology together over the next 60 days.  My start date to Insanity was on February 6th, 2012 and I completed my first round on April 12th, 2012.  I decided to become a Team Beachbody Coach half-way into my first round.  I took a few days off in between rounds at started round 2 of Insanity on April 16th, 2012 and completed it on June 17, 2012.  I took a couple months off from Insanity and decided it was time to change it up with a new program.  I started Les Mills Pump on August 27th, 2012.

The main purpose of One Pound At A Time is to document my journey and progress as I try to reach my goal weight.  This blog will help motivate me to stay on track.  I’m hoping this blog might inspire others in trying to reach their own goal; whether they’re trying to lose weight themselves or trying to achieve any other goals.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions or leave a comment!  However if anyone feels like writing anything negative under any of my posts, your comments will get deleted.  If you don’t have anything nice to say, keep it to yourself.  I want this blog to be free of any negativity.

Thank you in advance and Happy Reading!
