A friend on Facebook posted a link to the Warrior Dash in Illinois for June 18th or 19th and it caught my attention. The Warrior Dash is the ultimate event for thrill-seeking athletes. This 3-5 kilometer race is held on the most demanding and unique terrain from around the world. Participants will take on intense obstacles, and celebrate their feat with music, beer, and muddy shorts.
I have been looking into doing some 5K’s this year and I am definitely interested in trying out an obstacle course. Some other people I know are participating in this year’s Warrior Dash and there’s a good chance I’m going to join too. I just need to prepare myself for it and I’ll probably be in much better shape by the time it comes around. If anyone is interested in doing this with me, we need to pick out a wave time when signing up. More info on the Warrior Dash is at http://warriordash.com under Midwest.
On top of the Warrior Dash, I am interested in participating in the St. Paddy’s 5K Run/Walk on March 20th, the Race To Wrigley 5K Run on April 16th, Cosley Zoo Run For the Animals 5K on June 4th, and the Hot Chocolate 5K on November 5th. It all depends if I am ready by the time registration closes. If not, I am definitely going to participate next year. I have set a huge goal for me for next year. I want to run the Chicago Marathon in 2012. This of course would be after I reach my goal at the end of the year to get to my ideal weight. By the time the Chicago Marathon comes along, I plan on being super fit by then. I know I can do it because I truly believe in the saying “You can accomplish anything as long as you set your mind to it.”
For those wondering on what is going on with the TorsoBall launch and infomercial, the infomercial is in the final stages of production. Unfortunately, I will not be in the initial cut of the infomercial. I will hopefully re-shoot very soon so I can be in the next cut and until then I’m going to work my butt off. Some of you are probably curious to still see it so I will let you know when it airs and when the ball will be available.
I worked out for the first time in a long time with the TorsoBall today. I was planning on jumping right back into it but like everything else in life, you have to start out slow. I completed two circuits out of the three and I when I started doing the third, I felt shaky and weird so I had to stop. I didn’t have time to finish my work out at the gym. It was a good start to get back into the swing of things.
I’m ready to work harder tomorrow and I’m going to get my body into a good routine. I have goals to accomplish and pounds to lose!
